Commanders’ first-round pick suddenly looks obvious after major free agency spree

Adam Peters' aggressive free agency was both necessary and welcome. The Washington Commanders had money to spend and plenty of glaring holes to fill. There is a long way to go and more moves to make, but the general manager got off to the best possible start.

The Commanders were bold. Peters didn't manage to secure all his preferred targets, but the roster looks a lot better now than when the 2025 campaign concluded. This has also provided some extra flexibility during the 2026 NFL Draft for good measure.

Nothing should be off the table for Peters at No.
