Bryan Blair’s tenure as University of Toledo athletic director came to a close this week, ending a four-year stretch that reshaped the Rockets’ athletic department before he departed to take the same role at Syracuse.
Blair led Toledo athletics from 2022 to 2026 and quickly built a reputation as an innovator and financial strategist during a transformative period in college sports. At the same time, he became a visible presence throughout Northwest Ohio.
Among Blair’s most notable initiatives was launching the Mid-American Conference’s first NIL collective. He also helped establish the 1923 Society, a philanthropic platform that has surpassed $11.
