Phillies outfielder Johan Rojas has failed a test for performance enhancing drugs, per Jon Heyman of the New York Post. He is appealing the positive result. If his appeal is not successful, he will be suspended for the first 80 games of the regular season and will not be postseason eligible. Rojas, 24, was not in the Phillies lineup on Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Rays in Port Charlotte.

He was set to join Team Dominican Republic for the World Baseball Classic this week, but was suddenly taken off the roster.

Per the Joint Drug Agreement between the league and players association, all reporting players are subject to “mandatory unannounced urine specimen collection at a randomly selected date and time during spring training.
