Opinions may differ over whether Charles Oliveira’s win on Saturday was BMF-worthy, but about the man himself there is no question whatsoever.
In the main event of UFC 326, “do Bronxs” put in a breathtaking display of grappling dominance, taking down Max Holloway with ease in every round, then subjecting him to an endless, suffocating ordeal of back control, full mount and repeated choke and face crank attempts. Oliveira was so overwhelming on the ground that Holloway was awarded his Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt immediately after the fight simply for surviving—and it felt well deserved.
